Over the pond Sandisk has just last week announced an 8GB Flash-based digital music player, the Sansa e280.
Although 8GB would make it the biggest flash player on the market, the e280 also comes with a memory card slot for even more storage. The 8GB Sansa e280 is expected to retail in the US for $250 (that's £130-ish), which seems pretty reasonable to us considering the 4GB iPod nano costs around the same.
Also, it appears the launch of the 8GB Sansa e280 has in turn set the Apple rumour mill off again, with welcome whispers of an 8GB iPod nano hitting the shelves early next year - we'll let you know of any developments.
