Plantronics have introduced a new stereo Bluetooth headphone the Pulsar 590E. Based on the Pulsar 590A, which we reviewed a while back, the new headphone is designed for listening to music from your mobile both wirelessly and in full stereo.
With more and more mobiles now supporting stereo Bluetooth (or A2DP - Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) there's increasing demand for headphones like these. As mobile phone memories expand so to the amount of people using their phones as mp3 players - this creates the need to listen to music whilst still being able to receive calls. In theory then, Bluetooth headphones should be a good investment. In practice, however, the sound quality is often quite poor and the wireless nature is more of a novelty than a necessity.
Plantronics are promising vastly improved sound quality with the Pulsar 590E model as well as a 33ft range, up to 12 hours talk time, 10 hours of listening time, remote control of key functions, dedicated buttons on the headset itself and a foldable design for convenience (important we think - who wants big bulky headphones when the mobile phone mp3 player is essentially supposed to reduce clutter and baggage?).
Due in September the Pulsar 590E will cost £69.99 | Zoodex
