Shure E500PTH sound isolating earphones

Shure E500PTH sound isolating earphones
Shure's new flagship E500PTH earphones first wowed audiences at this year's CES in Vegas and now the company has announced an official UK release.

Featuring innovative Push-to-Hear (PTH) technology, the E500PTH boasts triple Hi-Def drivers - one tweeter and two woofers - which Shure boldly claims will do for personal audio what HDTV has done for television.

With a flick of a switch the PTH control activates an external microphone while at the same time lowering the volume of the music, meaning that you'll be able to pick up external sounds without having to take your 'phones off - perfect for catching those train announcements for instance.

With eight pair of sleeve options, the E500 also offers two modular cables, a 1/4in to 1/8in adapter for home stereo listening, a volume attenuator for airplane use and a zippered carrying case.

UK pricing has yet to be confirmed but they're retailing for $499 across the pond, so expect to pay at least £300 on their release this week.
